1. The Great Wall of China
It is the emblem of the ROC and even all of Asia, and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The year 204 BC was born with a very clear purpose: to protect China from possible foreign attacks, such as Manchu or Mongols.
It measures no less than 6,259 kilometers and was built by sectors in different stages of Chinese history. The final stage of its construction and responsible for its current appearance corresponds to the Ming dynasty.

2. The Forbidden City

3. The Temple of Heaven
It is another of the great monuments of Chinese history that you can only find in Beijing. It was built between 1406 and 1420 by order of the Yongue Emperor.
Like the Chinese Wall or the Forbidden City, it is another World Heritage Site, although the objective of its construction was very different. The Temple of Heaven was a sacrificial altar, a place that served as a link between heaven and earth.

4. The Great Buddha of Tian Tan
Here we have another of the iconic monuments of Chinese history. It is located in Hong Kong, near the Po Lin Monastery, a place of pilgrimage. It measures 34 meters high and was built with 250 tons of bronze. These figures make it one of the largest Buddha sculptures in China.
It is located at the top of a hill with a 240-step staircase that followers of Buddha must climb to reach the top and show their worship of him. On clear days it can be seen at great distances, which makes for an exceptional landscape.
5. The Monastery of the 10,000 Buddhas
We continue talking about Buddha and, without leaving Hong Kong, we discover another of China’s treasures. Although it is not as old as the previous places, since it was built in the 20th century, there is something that makes it unique. In it there are a total of 12,800 statues dedicated to Buddha in its eight hectares.
