Torremolinos, like the entire Costa del Sol, is one of the favorite destinations for Spanish tourists, but also foreigners. There are many attractions in the area, mainly the quality of its beaches and the good weather all year round. Here are some of the activities to do in Torremolinos, one of the most beautiful towns on the Malaga coast.

1. A day at the beach in La Carihuela

2. Visit the Molino de Inca Botanical Garden

Another thing to do in Torremolinos can be to visit the Molino de Inca Botanical Garden, an authentic oasis within the city. In it you will be able to see more than 150 palm trees of 50 different species, 300 trees of 60 species and about 400 bushes of diverse origin. In addition, it has curious specimens of different species, highlighting a 40-meter high American walnut.

You can also enjoy the water in the garden, the undisputed protagonist along with the flora, obviously. It has a large fountain that acts as a spring, from which a river flows through the park to end in a lake.

3. Enjoy Aqualand Torremolinos

If you want to enjoy different water attractions apart from the beach, an essential stop is Aqualand Torremolinos. It is located just 10 minutes from downtown and you can spend a full day without boredom having space.

Keep in mind that the park is only open from May to October and that it closes on September 20 due to the Torremolinos Pilgrimage.

4. Go up to the church of San Miguel

The most famous stairs in Torremolinos reach the church of San Miguel. This is the oldest church of the seven in the city. It was built in 1718 and was expanded and renovated in 1896.

It is also possible to enjoy the bars and restaurants found in the square of the same name. In addition, it is one of the busiest commercial areas in Europe. And, at the end of Calle de San Miguel, you can visit the historic Torre del Molino, one of the things to do in Torremolinos.

Torremolinos has three impressive viewpoints from which to enjoy fantastic views and take some of the best photos you will ever take.

The first of them is the viewpoint of the Cemetery. It is located between Playamar and the city center, at the junction of both and can be accessed both by stairs and by lift. The second is that of the Battery Park, located in Montemar.

And the last one, the Cañada del Lobo, is famous for its views of the coast but also inland, in the heart of the Sierra de Mijas. It has a path that, starting from Benalmádena, leads to this area, where there is also a forest refuge and a hostel.

Another of the activities to do in Torremolinos. If you want to explore beyond this town, there are many excursions organized in the area that may interest you.

The first is the excursion that allows you to spend a fantastic day in Tangier. First they will take you to Tarifa and there you will take a ferry to Tangier, where you will enjoy a charming city and you will be able to taste authentic Moroccan food.

The second option you have, and which is also very interesting, is to visit Gibraltar. You will observe the African mountains from Punta Europa at the top of the rock, you will walk through the underground passages of the San Miguel caves and end the day doing some shopping on Calle Real.
