Not only is it the largest square in the city, but it is considered one of the largest in the world. In it you can enjoy museums, traditional buildings and the odd one that is somewhat more modern. It does not matter if it is day or night, this square is beautiful at any time of the day.

El Faro del Comercio is one of its most characteristic and striking buildings. It is an intense orange tower with more than 70 meters high. Its laser mechanism that moves through the city is visible from almost any point.

The city museums

In Monterrey there are three outstanding museums that you must visit, as they are very interesting. We are talking about the Museum of Mexican Architecture, the Museum of the Northeast and the Palace Museum. 

They all focus on regional and local history.  In them you will learn a lot about the city and the Mexican country. While the first two are buildings of incredible modern architecture, the Palace Museum boasts a neoclassical style that blends masterfully with the city.

Below the Museum of Mexican History you will find the Paseo de Santa Lucía. You can travel it in a small boat on an artificial river that will take you to Fundidora Park, one of the jewels of the city.

Do not forget to stop on its shore to take a walk and have a good coffee in one of its picturesque and traditional places. A most relaxing and cultural afternoon.

Taste their gastronomy

Also in Monterrey there are impressive natural places that you cannot miss, although it is true that they are not Caribbean beaches or cenotes. Don’t miss the Cola de Caballo Ecotourism Park, with a waterfall over 25 meters high. It is a heavenly corner.

One of the most attractive activities you can do in it is to travel it on horseback.  You can do it your own way and without schedules, being able to stop at the viewpoints you like to enjoy their views.

This building, dating from the 18th century, shows very well the Spanish influence that existed in the city. It is in the baroque and neoclassical style and inside there is a well-known oil painting of Las Ánimas , a very important work of art in the country.

Even if you do not know where it is or what it is like, when you are in front of this cathedral you will know that it is something without equal, because its facade makes anyone fall in love.

And as we enter the world of religious buildings, this construction is impressive and you will have unrepeatable photos of it. It is not far from the Metropolitan Cathedral and is a must for its peculiar shape and color.

Its exterior is in the neo-gothic style and inside there are medieval airs. All this creates an explosion of shapes and styles that does not go unnoticed by anyone.
