Don Quijote de la Mancha is one of the emblematic characters of literature and this route reveals him to us. There is nothing better than taking a car and traveling the paths that the ingenious gentleman supposedly passed, contemplating the fields and the beautiful windmills that still adorn them.

The route is very wide and you can do it in stages. We recommend you start with the beautiful town of Campo de Criptana and from there go to the spectacular castle of Argamasilla de Alba. After that, you can tour the Renaissance heritage of La Solana to the Lagunas de Ruidera park, ending in Tomelloso, one of the most charming cities in Castilla-La Mancha.

This fantastic route will allow you to travel from La Rioja to Alcalá de Henares. Between these two points you can make a stop in Burgos, Valladolid, Salamanca and Ávila, determining places in the origin of the Spanish language.

The first stop on this route is San Millán de la Cogolla, in La Rioja, where the first texts were written in Spanish, more specifically in the monasteries of Suso and Yuso.

Then you must make a stop in Burgos and later at the Valladolid and Salamanca universities, institutions that promoted hundreds of texts. In fact, it was at the University of Salamanca that the first book on the grammar of the Spanish language was written.

To know Ávila is to discover the cradle of Santa Teresa de Jesús and San Juan de la Cruz, renowned authors of Spanish literature.

This incredible tour ends in Alcalá de Henares, where Miguel de Cervantes, the writer of one of the most important literary works in the world, Don Quixote de la Mancha, was born.

Girona is a province with countless charms. If you want to know it in depth, you can start the tour in Blanes and discover its magnificent botanical garden. Then continue to Tossa del Mar, where you can see one of its imposing fortresses.

But there are other emblematic places that you should not miss, including the Monastery of San Pedro de Roda. And, if you want to feel like in the middle of medieval times, you must make a stop in the towns of Pals, Peratallada and La Bisbal d’Empord.

But the route can be much longer if you go through all the beautiful towns and roads that are in the vicinity of this canyon, located in Soria. Just a step away you can discover places as charming and steeped in history as Burgo de Osma and Calatañazor.

On the other hand, in Castilla y León you can explore the Black Lagoon and get to know quiet and picturesque towns such as Molinos de Duero, Castroviejo and Vinuesa.

The route between Morella and the Maestrazgo is one of the least traveled by tourists despite the fact that it has sublime landscapes and a large number of beautiful and quiet towns that are sure to captivate you.
