London In Three Days, Organize Your Visit To The British Capital

London in three days, organize your visit to the British capital

If you plan to travel to the English capital, you should know that in a long weekend you will only have time to see the “essentials”. However, many travelers opt for a first approach to seeing London in three days, taking a quick tour that encompasses the typical. If you don’t have much time available, we offer you this guide with the best of the city in 72 hours.

London in three days : day 1

It starts with a good breakfast at the hotel or at a nearby coffee shop. The first destination is Hyde Park, the largest green lung in London. To do this, try to arrive early, take the tube at Marble Arch and take a walk to Wellington Arch.

Cross into the adjoining park, called Green Park, and arrive at Buckingham Palace, where the changing of the guard ceremony takes place at 11:30 in the morning. Anyway, check the hours and days, because it varies throughout the year.

After you have finished, you can eat something on the way (for example, some typical fish and chips). Cross St. James Park and you will soon arrive at Westminster Abbey. This will take you about two hours, but you can’t miss it.

Head towards the river to come across the famous Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster. Then cross the bridge of the same name until you reach the London Eye, from which you can see the entire city from the top.

If it’s late and you’re hungry, you can go to the Piccadilly area for dinner, or take a walk through the Harrods department store, where you will find all kinds of objects, clothes and souvenirs.

London in three days: day 2

Get up as early as possible, since your first destination will take you almost all morning: the Tower of London, which was used as a royal residence, fortress, prison and where the well-known ravens currently live, which are protected by a special guard.

After having known all its corners, cross Tower Bridge above the River Thames and to the right you will find the town hall and the ship HMS Belfast, which you should only see from the outside for lack of time.

Take the subway to Camdem Town, a neighborhood full of shops and markets ideal for lunch. Another option, if you like art, is to go to the British Museum, where you can see the Rosetta Stone, the section dedicated to Egypt or the Monument of the Nereids, among other jewels.

If you still have time and desire, walk through Oxford and Regent streets, reaching Piccadilly Circus. If you already saw it the day before, then head to Chinatown, in the Soho neighborhood and where you can dine for less than 10 pounds (quite affordable compared to London prices).

London in three days: day 3

This last day in the English capital also starts very early. We recommend that at 10 in the morning you are already at the gates of St. Paul’s Cathedral, next to St. Paul’s metro station. You can visit both the crypt and the dome.

Then take the tube to Charing Cross to see Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. Finally, and by the time of sunset, we advise you to visit the Convent Garden neighborhood, full of restaurants, theaters and shops. Ideal to dine there and, of course, rest until it is time to return to your city.

This is a tour to discover London in three days. If you have more time, there are many other interesting places.  For example, you can visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theater (reconstruction of a theater from the time of the great writer), the Nothing Hill bookstore or the Sherlock Holmes house.

And if museums are your thing, the offer is endless. In addition to those already mentioned, you can visit the Madame Tussauds wax museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Wallace Collection or the Science Museum, among many others.
