At the same time, two of the rulers of the province who were great lovers of European spas wanted to promote one here. That was the origin of the Praia do Cassino Spa, whose name, obviously, is due to the fact that there you could bet on different games of chance, as was usual in nineteenth-century spas. However, in the mid-20th century, the game was banned in Brazil, but still the name of the place remains.
The remains of all that, preserved today, are located three kilometers from the beach itself. A distance that was then bridged by horse-drawn carriages that took visitors from their accommodation to the shores of the ocean. And we can imagine the splendor of that establishment, since it was a spa with more than 130 rooms and a multitude of common rooms for dances, concerts, games or reading.
